automate parameter

Hi there,

I try to automate a parameter now. Unfortunately everything in the video tutorials is done so quickly
that it is impossible for me to understand whats going on. So my question is the following:

I would like to automate the release of a generator synth, As I understand it from the manual it goes like this:
note-velocity-instrument-controller-number:

G8 __ 01 0005 0A88 for a short release and
G8 __ 01 0005 0800 for the long release


I dont hear a change - what am I doing wrong?

Try this:
G8 __ 01 0500 1000 for a short release and
G8 __ 01 0500 8000 for the long release
Last number can be changed from 0000 (min) to 8000 (max).

I see I did write 50 instead of 05
