OK here's next test render...I dropped all the upright bass sample volumes by 3 steps for lower notes & 2 steps for higher notes... That seemed to do the trick...

Also a bit farther along in tune close to 3/4 ths done... It's only gonna be a bit over 2 minutes long, why?...Jazz tunes are TOUGH to make if you plan on making them right in some respect. I don't have patience to make a long jazz tune, plus with short attention spans nowadays I'm sure 2+ minutes just fine...

For me close is good enough...Jazz artist Quincy Jones once said that creating an album is like polishing a bus with a toothbrush...I see the point but I am happy to just 'scuff' a subaru with a welder's wire brush... Maybe other's agree...

Also cleaned up a few nasty notes in acoustic solo...BTW - The instrument used there is atom hub's Drunkeytar but I only had room for 2 octaves in sample slots so limited range had to cope as best as possible...

Also note STILL no drum tracks, just the HiHat 'click' track... You see in the old days you had to have the drummer come in early as the 'metronome' in the band's tune to keep it all steady but nowadays the computer keeps perfect time so no need to rush it...

That's it for now I think....Thanks for visiting the AXS Blog!

OK...This is pretty much the whole tune STILL WITHOUT drums which will be the final step...Had to do many renders & readjust as AXS is brighter & louder & the FX more acute in the render than when playing in the tracker itself...

No way I could ever get through doing a whole jazz album as it is @ 2 minutes & 15 seconds of sound practically sick of it...

I think I'll stick with Jazz-Rock (Fusion)....

Now to finish with drums. ought to be EASY!

Well it's finished made some changes on some things not sounding right...Drums didn't work as they just made it sound like it wanted to be rock which was all wrong...

The more drums I added to worse it sounded...Best was using just 2 HiHats, a Crash & a Rimshot!

Got pissed at soundclod as am tired of having to input CAPTCHA just to sign in & then can't upload cause email verification address is wrong & alternates I input always say 'In Use' (bullshit)...So I chose to DELETE my account (everything)...

That was a week ago everything still there but can no longer sign in, I guess soundclod is the new facebook for audio...Piss on that place...

Anyways I plan on a few more tutorial GIFs as when creating 'AXS Jazzmonger' I realized some areas I had not covered...Sometime soon...

Uploaded here some samples I use... These are ALL in C... Whether a single note or some are samples of 3-4 octaves but ALL in C & all mono 16bit for other trackers & such that may be 'Limp-Wristed' about ingesting samples...

AXS certainly doesn't need such process being the 'Studmaster' of sample ingestion I think the largest I have used is a 18 MB 24-bit stereo sample in AXS...NO PROBLEM...

I have included the entire JACO Bass Samples processed in same manner...Also included some VOXperc & Vocoder vocals...

Trying some different filehosters as many took giant shite or gone to the dark side... The telling blow is the DOWNLOAD side of the process, that is where you experience the 'homo hentai porn' or the 'migrant camp gang rape scene'...

So out of FIVE new ones I have tried today only TWO appear 'OK'...

The last 2 are new one's...

Will be back beginning of November to reUpload the AXS Pack... Will be including surprise 'bonus'... Also soon covering rendering out separate tracks for multiTrack process....

BTW...Tried JayTrax as it has internal synth but terrible sounding & poor workflow in tracker...Also messed with DreamStation 1 but has crashing issues with samples used as waveforms plus pattern editor too weak not enough modulation or FX commands to make the synth musical enough... Too bad as the synth is quite nice sounding...

Back for a fast one...

Figured while I was collecting samples from that previous post I would add on to it...

These are 'Four Samples per Octave' plus some percussion that includes some NI Battery 1 stuff & a human trumpet sample set which is vomiting & toilet sounds...HEY!, You might want to 'wake up' your audience with 'off the wall'... Which is done in comedy all the time called 'sidelining'...

The 4 per octaves I use in AXS for solo instruments for better quality... The Atom Hub Drunkeytar & Bornemark Double Bass I used in 'AXSJazzmonger'... However I only had TWO octaves available for the Drunkeytar so had to be a bit crafty in the solo...

As usual you should rename a sample to eight letters or less so you can tell what it is in AXS...

This chart previously made is a GREAT help in knob adjustments to pitch-up the same same in next slot till you get to the fourth slot then use the next sample for root rinse-repeat...
Image

When rendering out in AXS the output will tend to be a bit louder & more saturated then inside AXS so best to 'tone down' farther than what you think, especially in areas where instruments are competing for the same frequency space...

In my case I could've done better but I am a 'close is good enough' person...

After piddling around I think maybe Arguru's NoiseTrekker 2 R12 may be the next victim...

Image

Playing around today made 6 instruments & tried getting it to crash even substituting-replacing or injection into new slots instruments while it was running but no crashes (unlike Protrekkr)...

Using config EXE you can get it to run in windowed mode but other windows cause it to stop if it's playing... If you run another DirectX app then buttons freeze for a time... Fullscreen mode best for no problem but you are then locked into Noisetrekker2 until you decide to leave...

No problem with sound actually sounds a bit more analog than Protrekkr & FX seem to have a bit more 'poop'...

Arguru really liked AXS 'smart patterns' & that feature is in it... 16 tracks in all available... Cool feature for the time is realtime automation recording by moving sliders as tune plays but many FX have no sliders so it's to the pattern editor only for those...

WAV render works fine & simple too...

It has the 2 303s in it as well as internal CSynth... CSynth is mono but that is expected as there are no poly tracks, sounds just great adding FX to it...

I made a couple 303 patterns to run & tested that, they sound great & with tweaking sound 303-like... 303 patterns are saved as part of a song in NT2...

I am running it in XP & all seems OK the resolution always appears 800x600 no matter what is chosen in the config EXE...

So anybody interested might as well try it... This is with original songs & the few instruments I made today-

OR

https://ufile.io/yp7q1g5e

OR

https://gofile.io/d/5Vq4Ub

I suggest anybody interested download & see if it will even run on your machine first... Make sure you have CPU put on 'Highest' otherwise sound & features are degraded-

Image

Anyways if it pans out I will be starting an entire new thread...for now more testing, testing...

OK Update on NoiseTrekker2...

Made 208 instruments from absynth samples never a crash loading a WAV nor loading an instrument... So I benchtest NT2 by loading a buncha instruments then saving song files along the way... first was 65 MB, second was 83 MB & last was 106 MB... No problem... Then shut it off & restart NT2 and then load the biggest one no problem...Best to double-click the song file in the NT2 browser if you try to load by button & the file address says it can't find path then it will not find the song file...

That 106 MB song file ended up being 121 Instruments which was 133 samples as one was a multi-sample drum kit...

This is WAY WAY more than I would ever use but It's a confidence builder...

Arguru did real good on this one... When doing such as adding WAVs or opening instruments Protrekkr would've crashed at least 15-20 times probably more for 200+ instruments...

So piss... I guess I'll be adding another thread on here covering Noisetrekker 2 R12 I will be uploading plenty of instruments... It's really a nice counterpart to AXS tracker they both have strengths & weaknesses but both have smart patterns...

AXS has a better Synth & you can play it in Poly on your qwerty, NT2 has a mono Synth that can't play in poly but NT2 has TWO 303s & that really makes up for it...

And hopefully crash-free might be able to finish some shit... Here is my unfinished tune in Protrekkr that uses BOTH 303s the internal synth & plenty of sample instruments... I stopped working on it because of one too many unfortunate crashes, takes the mood right outta you...

The 4th will be tomorrow, Not as many views as previous... A bit under 2,000 for the month but that's still quite a bit...

OK reupping the package I have eliminated GOFILE as there be PORN ads on the download side. Also even though it's same package as last month workupload banned it for whatever reason in the meantime...

So send.cm is IT for this month-

https://send.cm/d/nqQY

Because of all the upload buggery this will be the last upload... If you happen on this TOO LATE I have this same AXS Full Pack as ATTACHMENT over at oldschooldaw.com

Here-

Beginning to MISS the simple workflow & stability of AXS>>>

Yesterday made some heavy lead samples from sampling output of Cakewalk Rapture 1.2.1 for Ultrano Dreamer... However it's sampler has a 'pitch detection' function so if you want to insert a sample that IT THINKS is already used then it will use the one already in it. Problem is that it is rather POOR at detection. If your sample is simple OK, If it contains harmonics, octaves, heavy flanging, etc then you are in trouble as it will be 'mistaken' by the sampler, what a pisser>>>

Anyways these just dandy for AXS... Probably good for a more 'prominent' lead sound than you can get in AXS Synth but use AXS Synth for the background & basses instead & add some of your fav drums-perc to your 128 slots possible.... OR whatever>>>

These are 2 samples per octave C0/G0/C1/G1/C2/G2/C3 ... I did not see the need to go past 3 octaves as the third covers the fourth. in AXS you gotta be careful how many octaves any given instrument will use up. These probably would be fine as one per octave too, you decide>>>

Welcome>>>

Here's some more..., I have Devine Machine Krishna on another machine I had sampled the output to 'C' octaves 2 years ago to make PTI instruments but these good as well for one sample per octave...

These more neatly organized by category as per the Krishna Presets>>>
