Classic VCA

Post by burij »

Hi Guys,

was asking myself, if it's possible to recreate functionality of the classic volume control amplifier. I'm still struggling with limitation of the sampler, since there is no way to to have proper envelope filter on it. my Idea was to use multisynthmodule with 2 routes, one to sampler the other to some misc modules, so they meet each other in an amplifier. amplifier volume would be on 0 per default and opens after note trigger with a proper ADSR-curve. I would believe, there should be some chain of misc modules between multisynth and amplifier, but which one? any ideas?

Oh! I've actually managed it myself. The chain needs to be MultySynth -> Analog generator -> Sound to Control -> Amplifier. My default settings for the generator are in this case:
Sin Wave, Attack 0, Release 200ish, Sustain off, Frequency 2000, Polyphony off. Filter off. Now you can connect Sampler Between Multy Synth and Amplifier an you get nice attack and release for the sample, which you can control by midi. Sorry for the dumb question.

Oh! Even better with FM instead of Generator:

Just no Volume for Modulator, Polyphony 1, LQmono Mode, Ratios on 0, and you get a complete ADSR for your Samples

there are no dumb questions. you might think you solved it, but there may be hidden avenues that other's can learn from and help you with. for that reason you should post some .sunsynth examples and some finished .sunvox files as examples. even if they are primitive, they can multiply like flowers when other people digest them and shit them out.
