latency compensation

Post by AutumnCheney »

some form of automatic latency compensation in sunvox would be really cool, especially when working with modules that introduce latency, like the fft module at a high buffer size or a lookahead compressor

i'm sure it could be possible to do this manually, but an automatic solution would easily solve issues when it comes to latency without having to put in any work

perhaps for metamodules there could be an option for latency compensation, which could work by sending an impulse into it and measuring the time for it to be returned? or possibly even a manual controller? for regular modules, it could also be an option or a controller

Agreed, would be nice, I avoid any mode on comp besides peak (zero latency) unless it's a master chain or when I don't care for a little extra delay, just doesn't worth the headache. At least there should be some sort of latency readout
