A lot of the ease of setting up tone maps and the like is fixed by something called Scala, a program that lets you define custom microtonal scales. The VST plugin called ZynAddSubFX can load Scala files (.scl extension) in order to tune the synth however you desire. If SunVox loaded up scl files, everything would be simple.

you mean like the multisynth? that's what it is for... making huge microtonal pitch quantizers to whatever scale you need. once you set up a "tone map" or a pitch quantizer, you would simply save it as a .sunsynth.
