Speaker Simulator effect module

Post by bluebyte » Tue Sep 29, 2015 9:29 am

I think it would be useful to have an effect module to configure and simulate a loadspeaker setup, while mixing and mastering using headphones.
Obviously hearing the audio through headphones is different than a through speakers, not to mention myriad different possible setups of the latter.

Many people do not have access to studio monitor speakers and do most or all their mixing on headphones. I myself am using a desktop setup on a Raspberry Pi 2 with a USB audio interface and monitor headphones. I imagine almost all users of mobile versions of SunVox are restricted to using headphones at best.

While it is impossible to tune your music for every possible listening arrangement, it would be useful to get a general idea of of stereo imaging, room echo etc would affect the mix.

An example is TB Isone, http://www.toneboosters.com/tb-isone/
Its description goes "A virtual monitoring setup with adjustable speakers and room acoustic properties – right from your headphones!"
