USB midi keyboard use with SunVox?

Post by rhythmslave »

Is there a way I can get my Alesis Q25 USB MIDI keyboard controller to work with SunVox? I hate QWERTY music control.

Never mind. I had an earlier version that did not have the virtual MIDI plug in. All is good with 1.7.3c

PLZ help! lol

a run down of what im working with:
AndroidMini PC (Minix NEO x7) quad core Rk3188 AndroidOS 4.4.4
Akai MPK 49 with USB cable only
SunVOX 1.8

I've tried several different ways to get the software to see the Keyboard but i'm failing.

any help you can provide would be appreciated. Was it as easy as plugging it in for you and your model KB?

I'm hoping im making some silly mistake that can be easily corrected. Would LOVE to be able to use this set up!

when i go to Preferences -> MIDI -> MIDI Keyboard 1: -> shows NONE and never anything else. i've tried plugging in the keyboard Before opening the app. but that doesn't seem to change anything.

anyone with knowledge of Akai MPK's feel free to let me know if there is a specific way to configure the keyboard to allow it to send MIDI over USB or whatever... THANK YOU IN ADVANCE if you have any support!

Some thing I would try is unlock the developer options on android settings which you do by finding "about phone" then clicking on the build number till you are a developer. Then go back and go into developer options next to about phone, turn them on and find usb connection. Once I are there select it and pick Midi Controller and hopefully that works ☺

As i said before, USB MIDI In/Out is not supported in SunVox for Android.
You can't use external MIDI devices.
It probably will be implemented one day, but i can't say when exactly.
