Crazy idea: Sunvox HTML5 port ?

Post by dubalistic » Wed Dec 19, 2012 1:36 pm

Hi Nightradio,

A crazy idea, since Sunvox is so multiplatform, why don't you try to build it with Emscripten/LLVM and compile it to JavaScript/HTML5 just for the experiment ?. Since it is SDL based, I think it could be possible.
There is already a Dune 2 port in HTML5, you can have a look at some examples here:

https://github.com/kripken/emscripten/wiki

Supporting a modern browser as a first tier platform can give rise to some very interesting possibilities.
Imagine collaborative edition of Sunvox, where people can collaborate and make songs real time in the browser.

Many regards !

Checking out some of the demos of this thing. Bananabread is crazy! I had no idea a browser could display such awesome graphics :) Fullscreen and everything. Amazing.
