un-Select active notes in sample editor

I'm using Sunvox on Android and can't figure out how to exclude notes from the active notes after loading or creating a new sample. If I tap a note that is not selected, it becomes selected. But tapping a note that is already selected does not toggle it to the unselected state, and I can't find any other way to unselect notes from the active notes for a sample.

Just select these notes in another slot. There is no "unselect note" concept. Only the "link note to a sample slot"
