SunVox Bugs
Re: SunVox Bugs
lately I've been running into errors related to saving files.
I recently did some rearranging of my files on my laptop, making new folders and moving programs into them so I keep things more organized between my art and my music. after I moved my sunvox folder, all the .sunvox files that were saved in my folder couldn't be accessed. when I tried to open them up in access, it said "load error: file not found".
confused by this, I tried deleting sunvox (save for the .sunvox files) then unzipping it again fresh and trying to open the files again. same error.
furthermore, since I've done this, I've been having issues saving songs. whenever I go to save a song, it simply gives me a "save error" message. I can close out sunvox, and reopen the previous session, and the data will be there, but I can't save the songs as .sunvox files, which is rather irksome. =/ the best I've been able to manage is to export the files to wav or mp3 format and that's a form of saving it, but it just, you know, saves the audio, not all the data that goes into making the patterns, tracks and components that made up the song in the first place.
any and all help with this is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.
oh, and on a side note, a question: I generally love sunvox for making music, but I'm trying to figure out how to use it to do live performances. I see it working as a DAW and tracker just fine, but is there like a "live mode" like lsdj has so I can active tweak and alter a song so I can perform it live at a concert, as opposed to just...sitting at my laptop, looking bored in front of an audience? lol. thanks in advance and thank you for making sunvox. it's making my dreams of being chiptune and electronica artist come true.

nanotracker,
is your 4.04 update is official? Sometimes this bug happens on custon builds with incorrect OpenGL drivers.

Re: SunVox Bugs
BitBear,
several questions for you.
What is your system?
Can you remember the full path to the place where your sunvox files were before?
Where it is now? (path)
Where is the SunVox application? It was also moved?
One suggestion.
Please try to check the properties of this folder with sunvox files. May be there are some flags like "read only" or "private".

There are no such live features like in the Ableton :) But anyway something you can do in the current version. Please check these videos:I'm trying to figure out how to use it to do live performances.

Re: SunVox Bugs
okay, so thanks to some of the questions you asked and some fiddling around, I realized that I was having trouble saving because sunvox's preset save location was trying to save to a location that no longer existed. once I changed the save destination, everything turned out a-ok, so I'm very happy with that. =3
also, thanks for the videos. its not quite what I had in mind, but it's definitely a viable option.

Re: SunVox Bugs
Hi,
since i knew the sunvox tracker, i am on it. for my work is what i want to use, now is what i'm looking for.
working with sunvox is quite much useful, and yeah more precise
since on my laptop i've replaced my bsd on a tar file the version of my os let me connect my ports restrictedly. so i've reinstalled mac os x 10.5.8. to get the place on the default bsd.
when i was that work i was from an update on os x 10.6.8 from that same 10.5.8, but now when i run the app it automatically crash on the closed unexpectedly bug window so that sunvox runs, then the window, and then the option for restore or make forced the restoration.
thank you for that amazing software and your help

File writing issue?
Should the NAME chunk in a .sunvox 1.7 file really be 576 bytes long? The name string ends in \0 so it doesn't affect the integrity of the file, but you might want to check and see why this is happening. Unless you're hiding specialized data in the NAME chunk, in which case never mind!

Help!
If someone could help me i would really appreciate it. I have Sunvox on my phone and on my pc (Win7 64). Everything was working fine until i cleaned my computer with system ninja. After that, nothing. Sunvox keeps crashing.
I really, really, really, really, really don't want to setup Windows again. REALLY!
Has anyone faced the same problem.... Anyone have a solution?
Thanks

Re: SunVox Bugs
What kind of crashing? The greyed out "Windows is checking for a solution" type of crashing? If so, then you might want to try changing the sound driver in use in the sunvox config file.

I'm not to good with this kind of stuff so this is what i got...

Re: SunVox Bugs
Config for ASIO driver:
And for DirectSound (if ASIO is not working):
Code: Select all
width 800
height 600
audiodevice 0
audiodriver asio
frequency 44100
Code: Select all
width 800
height 600
frequency 44100
