Realtime editing of timeline

Hi,
will it ever be possible to edit the timeline without stopping the song playing?
I would find this really useful for playing around with song structure while keeping in the flow.

It says "Move patterns during playback.", which admittedly seems more narrow but NR has also more than once hinted at similar developments, like
here.
