PR command usage

Post by El Nino »

Does anyone know how to use this command effectively?
The secret easter egg command...
I think it stands for absolute pitch and is used for the touch-theremin recordings.

What values are the normal western equal temperament notes as you would find on a piano and what values would be used for some kind of alternative tuning system (like pure intervals of just intonation or, 106tet like in the video link below)?

equal temperament: "Tempering is the process of altering the size of an interval by making it narrower or wider than pure" - wikipedia

See this thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2268#p7427

and this page: https://sunvox-guide.readthedocs.io/en/ ... ables.html

Although the Sunvox Guide project in general has slowed down a little, the goal of that particular page is to collect as many scales as possible, converted to SP numbers.

There are some alternate scales listed in the thread.

Awesome, thankyou. The tunings availiable for use are bohlen pierce and standard equal temperament.
I'll try to find out more tunings convert them to sunvox PR values and post them here.

I listened to the song 'cavesong' written in the bohlen pierce tuning system...its sounds very beautiful, almost magical qualities.
I will have to do some further research into how the bohlen pierce tuning system is constructed..The song does remind me of the cave stalactite instrument I saw once, where little hammers controlled by a keyboard were attached to stalactites which made the perfect tone..

These tuning sytems are fascinating, like taking the original detuning ideas like the supersaw to a whole new level in the space time continuum yo.

I wonder how to do just intonation and indian tunings though. It's a whole other classical music system to learn for the indian ones..must be a different kind of cycle, not cycle of fifths (cycle of microtonal awesomeness).

I wonder if there is such thing as a cycle of TETs?.....my mind is blown.

I would be interested to use these solfeggio tones:

Perhaps the SP / PR command is the solution to making the perfect endlessly rising shepards tone?

Sunvox guide is awesome, really helpful.

Anyway, I have another question:

I noticed that SP in place of note value in 'cavesong'...what is the difference between using SP and PR?

They are same thing, just the rendering changed from PR to SP at some point during SunVox development. (It appears to have started out as an undocumented feature)

Thanks. I'll use SP...I will enjoy this hidden feature, once I get my head round it and work out some table
