Quick noobie question - AKAI Pro LPK25 on Linux

Post by Crumplehorn »

Hey, quick question about the AKAI Pro LPK25: http://www.akaipro.com/product/lpk25

I'm running Sunvox on Linux Manjaro under an old Thinkpad x200s,

Will the AKAI Pro LPK25 be usable on this old laptop?

Bought Sunvox on Android too, i read several topics mentioning that midi keyboards will soon be supported, this is great!

I don't have any specific advice for this controller or laptop, but in general, almost all USB MIDI devices these days are "class compliant"... that is, they don't require drivers since the drivers are already included in the OS, and the controllers will use a standard protocol that is used across all manufacturers and models.

In this case, the controller you linked to says "no drivers needed", so should be class compliant and able to work on your system.

I don't own a X200s but a T420 and also had the AKAI LPK25, i had no problems on Ubuntu. I guess it will also run out of the box with Manjaro.
