What is new:

v1.9.1 BETA (30 dec 2015):
  • new module - Glide; it is similar to the MultiSynth, but it also adds the commands of smooth transition between the notes; see the glide.sunvox example;
  • advanced Interpolator has been added to the Pattern Editor: with this tool you can make a smooth transition of the values of any pattern columns, with various parameters (like the curve type, noise, etc.);
  • new function in the Module View (Routing) - Replace; use it if you want to replace the selected module by some other module without loss of connections;
  • MIDI buttons (with notes) linked to some SunVox actions (shortcuts) are now ignored by the synths;
  • added restoring of the JACK MIDI input connections;
  • Sampler (sample editor): now the Copy and Paste functions work through the file;
  • Sampler (sample editor): new effects (Invert and Center) has been added;
  • LFO: new controller "Duty cycle" (only for the square waveform);
  • CUT operation has been added to the Module View (Routing) and the Timeline;
  • new keyboard shortcut: SHIFT + > - select the next module;
  • new keyboard shortcut: SHIFT + < - select the previous module;
  • new keyboard shortcut: CTRL + > - select the next synth;
  • new keyboard shortcut: CTRL + < - select the previous synth;
  • new keyboard shortcut: CTRL + RIGHT - next module horizontally;
  • new keyboard shortcut: CTRL + LEFT - previous module horizontally;
  • new keyboard shortcut: CTRL + DOWN - next module vertically;
  • new keyboard shortcut: CTRL + UP - previous module vertically;
  • new instrument from Cube48: DrumSynth48;
  • new simple song examples: glide;
  • new song examples: snowfall, SunVox Compo 2015.10 Winners (KnyazIvan - fatal precession, OceanicDegree - Dreaming, echo2 - unreal love 3);
  • bugs fixed.

Awesome !

The Pitch controller in the Glide module is an instant favourite new feature.
Shortcuts for module selection are very convenient.
Copying sample data works not only through the file but also across projects, instances and sessions.

Brain to speaker speed is increased once more.

"new function in the Module View (Routing) - Replace; use it if you want to replace the selected module by some other module without loss of connections;"
^^^^^^^^
Now THAT is a truly awesome addition! Really helps with the workflow :)

Advanced interpolator looks tasty too.

Thank you for the new version!

Just a heads-up:

I experienced a hang once.

Linux, 64 bit (debian stable)

Full screen, 1200x1980

Had been playing KnyazIvan's compo track, and wanted to load another, and it just locked up until I hit ctrl-C in the controlling terminal.

After restarting, I loaded and played everything fine, I couldn't duplicate the issue, so I don't know for sure what the cause was.

Hey, be careful, you guys - I'm not sure if it was just a mistake on my part, but when I went to start up the new beta and was listening to the glide example, I noticed that it seemed like the entire Sunvox folder was being deleted? I caught it before it finished, but I lost quite a few instruments and a lot of samples... I'm not too bummed about it, but it is a joykiller.

Anyway, I don't know if maybe I pressed delete without realizing it or something (I do have a really sensitive keyboard), but... I don't know. Just be careful.

Hm.... I hope it is just some mistake (pressed delete maybe?). Can anyone else confirm this?

Yeah, I think it might have just been user error (my fault); I haven't noticed it trying to delete anything else, so I think I must have gotten mixed up when I tried to delete something else.

Nice work on this update, NightRadio. The Glide module sounds pretty cool, haha! The interpolator also looks nice; being able to blend between notes is super useful, especially for arpeggios. Perhaps you could also add the ability to allow or disallow specific notes for such an arpeggio?

Also, how does the Envelope work? I'm not quite sure what it does...?

Thanks to all!

Here's how these buttons work

Interpolate:
New value = Interpolation between the values of the first and last line of selection.

Apply envelope:
New value = Old value * Interpolation between the Env.Start and the Env.end parameters.

So if you want the smooth transition between the first and the last lines of your selection - use Interpolate.
But if you want to change the existing values (fade them out for example) - use Apply envelope.

It might be useful for the Interpolator to have a switch to use the current Edit step, so that it would work as usual but only affect (for instance) every beat instead of every line.
