SunGrid_DrumPads

Post by Sedulous » Thu Aug 25, 2016 1:16 am

Greetings Sunvox Community,

I am excited to share with you all the SunGrid DrumPad Modules.

My reason for creating this is to help inspire solutions and approaches towards creative workflows and for live performance solutions. Hopefully it is helpful for people who want to quickly get ideas in without having to switch too much between modules.

To use it:

(for the DrumPad version)

Simply replace a "Replace_Your_Instrument_Here" module with a sound source of your choice. Then use the MultiSynth module labeled "Input" to trigger the sounds corresponding to the US Keyboard layout. For other layouts, you may have to relabel or modify the MultiSynths. To play a sound melodically, select the module containg your sound source and play it instead of the connecting MultiSynths.

(for the DrumSynth version)

You can cycle through the DrumSynths by using the "Transpose" parameters, and if you want to maintain the same sound type for that keyboard key, transpose the values by (-/+ 12 units) for that sound.

(for the QWERTY version)

It works like the previous two, but there are 10 keys that overlap, colored red. This serves as a helpful solution to layer instruments such as drums, voices, or sections.

Set Backs:

It only works with the defualt octave that Sunvox is set to; (which for me is when keyboard key [Z] is C3.) I have not yet found a way to solve this idea while being able to change octaves within Sunvox.

At the moment, this only works for physical keyboards, but hopefully can inspire on-screen solutions to this idea.

Feel free to use, modify, leave feedback, and improve the design solutions. :D

I have added a sample slicer feature to the design of the "SunGrid_DrumPad_v2."
It can be found here viewtopic.php?f=11&t=4166.
